How to carpool to a festival

To carpool to a festival, find your festival on VIB3S and join a ride from someone leaving near you, or post the free seats in your car. You coordinate through the chat, share fuel and tolls, and can sort out the ride home too.

It's the most practical way to reach festivals with little public transport or late-night finishes, and the cost is split between everyone in the car.

Step by step

  1. 1

Download VIB3S and find your festival

Each event has its own community, with the rides posted by people who are going.

  2. 2

Pick a ride leaving near you

Check origin, departure time, price per seat and the driver's profile.

  3. 3

Request a seat or post yours

If you're driving, post your free seats. If not, request a seat: the driver accepts and the payment is held until the trip ends.

  4. 4

Sort out the details in the chat

Meeting point, luggage, exact time and whether you'll come back together.

How much does carpooling to a festival cost?

The driver sets a price per seat that shares the real trip costs: fuel and tolls. The more people in the car, the less each one pays: with four people, each covers roughly a quarter.

VIB3S adds its management fee when you book (a 15% commission on the trip price, plus the payment cost and VAT), and you see the total before paying. More in how VIB3S works.

The ride home: the hardest part

Many festivals end in the early hours, when public transport has stopped. Plan the return before you leave:

  • Find or post the return trip too, with an approximate time.
  • Agree on an easy-to-find meeting point outside the venue.
  • If you're driving, rest before heading back and don't drink: the return is the riskiest part.
  • Keep your phone charged to coordinate in the chat.

Tips for your situation

  • Multi-day festivals with camping: tell the driver about your luggage (tent, sleeping bag, cooler) before booking.
  • One-night festivals: the return is usually in the early hours; book both ways at once.
  • Going with friends: book several seats in the same car, or post yours and fill the empty seats.
  • Going alone: carpooling is an easy way to meet people going to the same festival.

If you're driving to the festival

Post your free seats with origin, time and price per seat. You'll get requests and decide who to accept. To accept paying passengers you need to complete Stripe identity verification, and you get paid when the trip ends.

A full car also helps the festival: fewer cars at the gates and in the car park.
