Running in Valencia from out of town: the trip needs training too
- Bibs are only handed out Thursday to Saturday at Feria Valencia: there's no pick-up on Sunday, so you need to arrive beforehand
- Feria Valencia, where you collect your bib, isn't in the start and finish area at the City of Arts and Sciences
- On Sunday morning there are road closures along the course; Valencia City Council publishes them on the Wednesday before the race
- After 42 km, driving home alone to Madrid, Zaragoza or Barcelona is the last thing you'll want to do

FAQ — How to get to the 2026 Valencia Marathon
When is the 2026 Valencia Marathon?
On Sunday 6 December 2026. The start is at 8:15am, in waves until 9:35am, and the race closes at 3:15pm. It's the 46th Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich. Don't confuse it with the Half Marathon, which is run in October.
Where are the start and finish?
The start is at Plaça de la Marató and the finish is on the walkway over the water at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia.
Where and when do I collect my bib?
At Feria Valencia (Av. de les Fires, s/n, 46035 València): Thursday 3 December 5pm–9pm, Friday 4 9am–9pm and Saturday 5 9am–7pm. Bibs are not handed out on Sunday. You can authorise someone else to collect yours through the Runner Area.
How do I get to the start on Sunday?
According to Visit València, the City of Arts and Sciences is served by metro line 10 and EMT buses 6, 16, 26, 28, 94, 95 and C2. There are road closures along the course on Sunday: check Valencia City Council's mobility website, which publishes them on the Wednesday before, and avoid relying on a car to reach the start.
Is there a train discount for the marathon?
Yes. The organisers offer a discount of at least 15% on Renfe AVE and long-distance trains to Valencia, from 1 to 13 December, for registered runners and their companions. You request it in the Runner Area. If you'd rather drive, sharing the car with VIB3S splits fuel and parking.
Can I organise the trip home after the race?
Yes, and that's when it helps most: agree on a time, meeting point and who's driving in the VIB3S chat before the start. After 42 km, you don't want to be the one behind the wheel.
